The Enchanting
Lake District

Enjoy a wonderful 4 day break to the Lake District and experience some of Britain’s finest scenery, greenest countryside, grandiose views and many artistic and literary connections, most famously William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Ever since the romantic poets arrived in the 19th century, the Lake Districts postcard panorama of craggy hilltops, mountain tarns and glittering lakes has been stirring the imaginations of visitors and its easy to see why some 15 million people visit annually.

The Lake District - This unique and truly magnificent part of England is famed for its varied landscapes of lofty peaks, tranquil lakes and mountainous fells.
The Lakes are also home to the former mining village of Coniston, famous as the former home of John Ruskin and as the tragic location where Donald Campbell died trying to break his own world water speed record in 1967.

Great Drives - There are numerous exciting driving routes to keep the car enthusiast challenged and in awe of the surrounding beauty. These routes take in all the main lakes, towns, villages and attractions within the Lake District, a few of them are allocated just outside of the National Park, but still within Cumbria. The routes are generally between 30 to 50 miles in length and can either be completed on a straight run in a couple of hours or else broken down; this will allow you to spend the day interspersing these wonderful drives with some of the attractions in the area.
