Post-Laon Tour to the

BLACK FOREST

Without doubt the picturesque Black Forest is one of Germany’s largest and best-known regions. A magical land of wonderful scenery with pine clad mountains and rolling hills, lush green valleys, crystal clear lakes and enchanting waterfalls.

Quaint half-timbered buildings nestle in delightful historic towns and villages, there are spectacular gorges carved by the River Rhine, plus of course those magnificent cuckoo clocks and the famous Black Forest Gateau. This scenic tour is based in the delightful village of Hornberg, set in the beautiful Gutach mountain valley, in the district of Reichenbach in the heart of the Black Forest.

Schwarzwaldhochstrasse - No visit to the Black Forest would be complete without driving the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse. At about 3,000 feet/900m, the 44-mile/70km stretch of the B-500 road runs along the ridges of this low mountain range. Along the way, you can look up at the 4,900-ft/ 1,493m Feldberg, the highest point in the Black Forest, and down into some spectacular ravines.

Lake Titisee - Nestled within the rolling hills and mountains of the Black Forest, Lake Titisee offers a variety of waterfront activities. Wander the alpine lake's shore to admire the nearby Hochfirst Mountain.

Triberg Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in Germany with a descent of 163m and is a landmark in the Black Forest region. There are three entrances to the waterfalls, which are reached via asphalted paths, steps and footbridges.
