Waterford, Killarney

& The RING OF KERRY

This 6 day tour takes you along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. Explore the rugged south coast of Ireland at your leisure, as you make your way to Ireland's most popular tourist destination, Killarney. The south coast is steeped in history, prehistoric settlements, castles; with abbeys and stately homes dotting the landscape. There is plenty to discover on your travels, not to mention the spectacular coastline and never-ending beaches or the harbour-side village of Kinsale laying claim to the title ‘Foodie capital of the South'.

Waterford is Ireland’s oldest city and over 1000 years old. However, it’s not all ancient history, as funky shops, electric festivals and the brand-new Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre collide with Norman constructs and Viking sites to create a potent and eclectic mix. Waterford is also home to the Copper Coast UNESCO Global Geopark which is home to a spectacular record of earth’s natural and human past. It stretches 25 km from the Victorian resort of Tramore to leafy Stradbally, this short, but spectacular, drive offers cliffs, coves, sea stacks and breathtaking coastal views at every turn.

Killarney is perhaps the most picturesque part of Ireland’s south west and is considered a must visit. Killarney is the gateway to the Ring of Kerry and has been Ireland's top town for tourism for many years. Although Killarney is a very attractive town, it is outshone by the beautiful surrounding countryside with its mountains, lakes, woods and coastline. You can take a ride through part of this beauty by taking a Jaunting Car, the local form of horse drawn carriage. Always take a raincoat as the weather can be unpredictable. Killarney town has much to interest the tourist, not least, the fine restaurants, gift shops and pubs with their traditional music- of which there are many!
