Perhaps you’ve already journeyed along the NC500, but don’t overlook the opportunity to return and venture into the interior of the route. By delving into the winding roads within, straying from the well-trodden path, and uncovering the essence of the rugged North Highlands, you’ll discover a truly enriching experience.
The route starts in the Highland city of Inverness, then weaves along the east coast through Dingwall to John O’Groats and the bustling town of Thurso in Caithness.
From here, you’ll venture through some of the most northerly points in Scotland passing Durness and Scourie, before heading down the spectacular west coast to Torridon and Ullapool. Upon departing from Gairloch your journey home will be via Applecross.
The full North Coast 500 Route takes you back to Inverness, we have intentionally not included a final night in Inverness to give you the flexibility.
