Join us for one of the biggest classic car pilgrimages to Europe and be a part of the popular Circuit Historique de Laon, the most popular event of its kind in Europe with over 700 cars attending every year.

Circuit Historique de Laon has garnered an almost cult status among the UK’s car club and the motoring enthusiast scene. A low mileage, typically French weekend with hundreds of cars all there to sample the French way of life and put on a show for the locals.

Le Touquet will be the host for our car display. Participants will park on the seafront and have the opportunity to explore the elegant resort, explore the town, stroll along the promenade and perhaps sample the delicious seafood!

Circuit Historique de Laon will begin on Saturday morning, participants make their way to Parc Foch to register for the weekend’s events, collect their rally plate and tulip book before embarking on Saturday’s organised run.

Sunday, participating cars gather in Laon Old Town ready for the closed street run. There will be a few hours to explore the historic town before the parade. The 6km closed road route includes hairpin bends, great views and beautiful medieval streets. Spectators line the streets to watch one of the biggest motorcades of classic and sports cars in Europe.

Monday, pre-booked participants convene at the designated meeting point to check in and collect their Road Book for the OPTIONAL morning run. Alternatively, the day is at leisure to make your way to your port of departure for your sailing back to the UK. Or why not extend your stay with a tour to the Black Forest? See below for details.

POST-LAON BLACK FOREST TOUR

Ibis Hotel Laon
Ibis Hotel Laon

A typical European style Ibis hotel, located on the outskirts of the modern Laon district. Refurbished back in 2024 to match the colourful yet minimalist style of the modern Ibis brand. This hotel boasts comfortable rooms with all the features you would expect from a reliable 3-star hotel. This hotel also has private, free of charge parking for guests. The restaurant and bar serve a simple menu designed to stop you going hungry, but it can get busy when the hotel is full. There are no other restaurants within walking distance, but the medieval centre is only a short drive away. Disabled access rooms are available. Pets are permitted but charges apply.

Hotel du Golf de l'Ailette
Hotel du Golf de l'Ailette

You will see this hotel featured on several of our tours; we like it a lot. Located on the banks of the Ailette River, this hotel offers panoramic views of the lake, as well as outdoor terrace and seating area for when the sun is shining. All rooms face the lake and feature modern rooms amenities with a private balcony. The restaurant provides good quality food. Our only honest feedback is the bar is quite expensive, made all the worse by the fact there are no alternative bars or restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Parking is available on site and free of charge. Disabled access rooms are available. Pets are permitted but charges apply.

Ibis Saint-Quentin Basilique

Hôtel Inn Design Laon
Hôtel Inn Design Laon

Hotel Inn Design is a very basic option for those not looking to break the bank. All rooms are compact but comfortable, each featuring a small ensuite shower room. Think of them similar to cabins on a ship, perfect if you just need a bed for the night and somewhere to freshen up. Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout most of the hotel. A basic continental breakfast is served each morning. This hotel has its own free of charge onsite car park. The only restaurant within walking distance is in the neighbouring hotel, however the medieval centre is only a short drive away. Rooms are not fully accessible. Pets are not permitted at this property.

Kyriad Direct Laon
Kyriad Direct Laon

Located on the outskirts of the modern Laon district, this Kyriad Direct has a American Motel style layout, with the second-floor rooms accessible via steps and elevated walkway. Rooms are compact but comfortable. The only honest criticism can be that the rooms can be quite dark due to the hotel’s layout resulting in limited natural light. A continental breakfast is served every morning in the lounge area. There are three restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. Private parking is on-site and free of charge. Due to the age of the building, rooms are not fully accessible, but disabled facilities are available. Pets are permitted but charges apply.

Hôtel du Tramway
Hôtel du Tramway

Situated at the bottom of the medieval cities’ ramparts, this hotel was modernised back in 2019 and now boasts lift access to each floor, with compact and yet comfortable bedrooms. All rooms are ensuite. Please note there are no twin-bedded rooms in this hotel. A continental breakfast is served each morning. The hotel has a small private car park to the rear, which is on a first come first served basis. Alternatively, there is public car park at the front of the hotel that can be utilised. Pets are permitted but charges apply. Access to the medieval town require a 20-minute uphill walk, or a short drive.

Kyriad Laon
Kyriad Laon

Formally the St Vincent Hotel, this Kyriad provides ok 2/3-star accommodation located on the outskirts of the modern Laon district. Featuring on-site parking and quite a good quality a la carte restaurant, as well as being within walking distance of two other restaurants. This hotel attracts repeat guests year on year due to the great social atmosphere it generates. All rooms are compact yet comfortable, however the main bit of honest criticism we get is that the rooms are quite dated and in need of a modern refurb. Due to the age of the building, rooms are not fully accessible. Pets are permitted but charges apply.
