OR - Enjoy a wonderful day driving around the 'Lap of Snowdonia'. This route takes you right round the ginormous bulk of Snowdonia’s central massif. You can do it either way, but the best views of Snowdon itself come when you do it anti clockwise. From Caernarfon take the A4085, which quickly rises up into the foothills. As it crests the hill just past Rhyd-Ddu, look left up Snowdon’s gentler western flanks and you can see the summit café. Turn left at Beddgelert along the A498, then look left again for more glimpses of the summit, this time jagged and triangular, set amongst an awesome horseshoe of cliffs. Turn left at Pen y Gwryd and up through the famous Llanberis Pass. Its highest point, Pen-y-Pass, marks the start of the most popular walking routes. From here it’s downhill to Llanberis and onward to Caernarfon.. Return to the hotel late afternoon followed by dinner and the evening at leisure.
DAY 4 (BB) - Breakfast followed by a mid morning departure from North Wales and the hotel. Again dependant on where you are travelling back to, today you have the opportunity to plan your route to take in some local sights or attractions en-route.
Meal Basis - BB = Bed & Breakfast / HB = Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
DAY 3 (HB) - Breakfast followed by the day at leisure
OR - Enjoy a wonderful day exploring the North Wales coastline. Portmeirion, built over decades from the 1920s, Sir Clough Williams-Ellis designed this utterly unique village on a corner of Italy, built in homage to the spirit of the Mediterranean. Portmeirion's maze of elaborate villas, scattered domes and neatly-placed squares are set within gardens and an encompassing area of unbeatable natural beauty. Llandudno is the epitome of the elegant Victorian seaside resort. It’s on quite an upswing at the moment, with great places to stay, eat and drink. It’s also a hub of North Wales’ thriving contemporary art and craft scene. Enjoy a Steam Train ride, choose from seven main stations and six stopping points between the coasts of Caernarfon and Porthmadog in the Snowdonia National Park. A restoration of the legendary Welsh Highland Railway which closed during the 1930s. Return to the hotel late afternoon followed by dinner and the evening at leisure.
