We have just returned from the New Zealand Tour. It was good value for money, especially with breakfasts included, which is a must as you could run up a big bill at some hotels. We found the car hire staff friendly and helpful and we got the car we expected. It was comfortable and in good condition with 11k km on the clock. The hotels were a of a very good standard and well located and The Milford Sound cruise boat was perfect, it was small with friendly staff, also an early sailing was good as it gets very crowded later on. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this tour to anyone. Regards, Paul & Felicity Jones

The North Island - Active volcanoes, island sanctuaries and history top the list when visiting New Zealand’s North Island. From the far north where New Zealand’s political history began, journey through landscapes that blend magnificent coast, sprawling farmlands and geothermal wonders. Maori culture is rich and ever-present in many parts of the North Island.  New Zealand straddles an active fault line where two giant pieces of the earth's surface are in a constant state of collision, in the central North Island, one piece is creeping slowly under the other, generating enormous amounts of active subterranean heat and volcanic activity. This area centres around Rotorua, stretching south to the mountains of Tongariro National Park then east to Bay of Plenty’s White Island, an active and accessible volcano island.

The South Island - A palette of dramatic scenes, New Zealand’s South Island hosts the purest natural landscapes you’ll ever experience. Showcasing the best of nature’s assets where towering alps meet peaceful sounds and rugged coastlines merge with sweeping plains. Let’s not forget the backbone of the island - the most down-to-earth locals you’ll ever meet. The South Island contains many stunning glaciers, most of which are located near the Main Divide in the Southern Alps in the South Island. There are few places in the world where, within the space of one day, you can experience mountain vistas, ancient forests, volcanic landscapes and stunning coastline - all whilst spotting New Zealand wildlife found nowhere else on earth.

We had a brilliant but tiring holiday to New Zew Zealand.  We enjoyed the drive from Auckland West to Piha and its amazing beach with Lions Rock. We did this in the afternoon after collecting the hire car, as a way of getting used to the car and driving in NZ. We went from Lake Taupo to Napier via the National Army Museum at Waiouru, then South onto the Taihape Napier Road which goes East to Napier through the mountains on a brilliant driving road. We found EZI Car Rentals very helpful and whilst we have excess insurance on an annual policy to cover multiple car hire, in the event of a claim I have to then claim the excess back from my insurer. The EZI Rental policy is NZ$25 per day but for no quibble cover and in view of the risk of damage, especially from stones on unsealed roads, I think it is worth it. Both Peter and David bad to change their cars due to breaking windows. All the hotels, whilst very different and offering contrasting levels of refinement, were good, with helpful staff and some good in-house restaurants. We are happy to commend the arrangements and all aspects of the trip. We greatly enjoyed the company of Malcolm and Linda Hodsdon each evening, whilst the others generally chose to eat elsewhere and earlier than us. We drove over 2,500 miles, whilst David and Anne did significantly more, with their various scenic alternative routes. A very enjoyable trip, so thanks again and we shall continue to recommend Scenic Tours to others.

Best Wishes to you all, Nick and Hilary Marsh
