Day 1 (FS) - Flights from London to Los Angeles (other UK regional airports available on request) - After completing customs and immigration clearance at Los Angeles airport you'll transfer by courtesy shuttle bus collect your hire car for the short drive to Santa Monica and your hotel - Mileage approx. 14 miles.

Day 2-3 (RO) - At leisure in Santa Monica. Why not book one of the organised tours of LA, Hollywood and the surrounding area including; Grand Tour of Los Angeles, City Tour by Night, LA City Tour & Stars Home Tour, Theme Park & Movie Studio Tours.

Day 4 (RO) - Santa Monica to Cambria for the first section of your spectacular Pacific Coastal drive - Mileage approx. 220 miles.

 

Day 5 (BB) - Cambria to San Francisco - today’s drive may be your favourite on the Pacific Coast Highway as it includes the amazing Big Sur coastline, Monterey & Carmel. Don't miss the Monterey Aquarium, it's one of the best in the world. Today you'll see some of the world's most beautiful coastlines on your drive from Monterey and Carmel-by-the Sea. Tour the historic waterfront district of Cannery Row and travel the scenic 17-Mile Drive, passing though Pacific Grove, Spanish Bay and Pebble Beach - Mileage approx. 230 miles.

Day 6-7 (RO) - At leisure in San Francisco, home to some of North America's great icons, such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, there’s plenty to explore here. One of the best ways to see the city’s sights is with a Hop on Hop off bus tour; book your tickets, sit back and enjoy a whole new perspective of this urban paradise. Relax in the Golden Gate Park before heading to Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf to sample tasty, fresh seafood while watching the sea lions sunbathe and listening to their distinctive call. Ride historic cable cars, stopping off to see the 'crookedest' street in the world; Lombard Street and finish your day with an indulgent ice-cream sundae from Ghirardelhi Square.

Day 10 (BB) - Yosemite to Death Valley - Today you'll make your way south-east via Lee Vining, Bishop, Big Pine and Panamint Springs to Death Valley, the hottest, driest, and lowest National Park in the USA. In this below-sea-level basin, steady drought and record summer heat make Death Valley a land of extremes. Yet, each extreme has a striking contrast. Towering peaks are frosted with winter snow. Rare rainstorms bring vast fields of wildflowers. Lush oases harbor tiny fish and refuge for wildlife and humans. Despite its morbid name, a great diversity of life survives in Death Valley. - Mileage approx. 330 miles.

Day 11 (BB) - Death Valley to Las Vegas - Departing the hotel after breakfast today your journey today takes you via Indian Springs to the glitz and glamour that is 'Las Vegas' - Mileage approx. 105 miles

 

Day 12-13 (RO) - At leisure in Las Vegas - located in Nevada’s Mojave Desert, Las Vegas is a resort city famed for its vibrant nightlife, centered around 24-hour casinos and other entertainment options. Its main street and focal point is the Strip, just over 4 miles long. This boulevard is home to themed hotels with elaborate displays such as fountains synchronized to music as well as replicas of an Egyptian pyramid, the Venetian Grand Canal, and the Eiffel Tower.

The Grand Canyon - During your stay in Las Vegas why not visit the Grand Canyon. There are numerous flight tours to the South or West Rim or if you prefer you can drive to the West Rim via Kingman where you'll experience one of the original sections of Route 66 - Driving mileage approx. 300 miles (round trip).

Day 14 (RO/FS) - Las Vegas to Los Angeles International Airport - Departing Las Vegas, today you head west via Primm on the state line between Nevada and California where you'll have a chance to do some last minute shopping at the Factory Outlets before continuing on to Calico Ghost Town, California's official Silver Rush Ghost Town preserving one of the few original mining camps in the Old West. From Calico you continue on to Los Angeles via Barstow, once covered by immense lakes ringed with Native American villages. On arrival at Los Angeles International Airport, you'll return your car to the rental deport before checking in for your mid evening flight back to the UK - Mileage approx. 270 miles

Day 8 (RO) - San Francisco to Yosemite National Park - Today you'll cross the impressive Oakland Bay Bridge as you make your way via Oakland, Castro Valley, Tracy, Knights Ferry and Moccasin to Yosemite - Mileage approx. 170 miles.

Day 9 (BB) - At Leisure to explore Yosemite National Park - Today you'll spend the day in the spectacular surroundings of Yosemite National Park. Attractions here include; Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, Tuolumne Meadows, El Capitan, Valley View, Lembert Dome,  Tunnel View, Yosemite Redwoods and Cathedral Peak.
