We are delighted to confirm that the forthcoming MX-5 Anniversary Tour to the Isle of Man in June is now even Bigger & Better, with more Exclusive Inclusions and Attractions!
You’ll be the first cars on the TT-Mountain Road, as it opens on Monday after the finish of the ‘TT’ with all the signage and circuit furniture still in place.
You’ll enjoy an exclusive MX-5 afternoon tea in the famous Creg-Ny-Baa, with MX-5 member only access to the balcony with amazing views of the mountain circuit. The Road is closed directly outside the Creg-Ny-Ba, so you’ll be in pole position for the MX-5 run on the mountain road when it re-opens.
You’ll enjoy an amazing drive on the famous Sloc Mountain Road. Regarded as one of the best roads on the Island, the Sloc has just undergone a £20 million
resurfacing and is home to the famous Sloc Hillclimb.
The amazing Isle of Man Motor Museum at Jurby will open its doors exclusively for MX-5 participants. Cars on display in the Museum span over 100 years of worldwide motoring history from a 1903 Turner-Miesse steam car to a 2005 Toyota BB OpenDeck. We’ve also included lunch for MX-5 members at the Museum’s Guard House café.
We’ve also arranged an exclusive opportunity for MX-5 participants to enjoy some track-laps and sprints on the Jurby Airfield Circuit. The circuit will be open to members for approx. 3 hours and, after a safety briefing and orientation lap, you’ll be free to enjoy yourself!
All of the MX-5 participants will be able to display the cars on the concourse at the front of the Isle of Man Motor Museum and there will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the weekend.
Don’t miss the MX-5 Anniversary Gala dinner at the Comis Mount Murray Hotel featuring live entertainment with Chris King, the one man Rat Pack.
The Isle of Man is definitely a place all driving enthusiasts should visit as, thanks to a quirk of the island laws, outside the race season much of the TT route has no speed limit. Yes, today there are still roads where you can drive as fast as you wish! Where else would you see kerbstones painted in circuit apex fashion, black and white stripes, in sleepy towns and villages?
Venture away from the capital, Douglas, and you’ll find rugged cliffs, sandy coves, miles of uncrowded beaches, enchanting glens and unspoilt countryside, where you can indulge your passion for the great outdoors as you meander through glorious wooded glens basking in the colours of the purple heather covered moorland. The ancient Celts, Vikings and Christians left the island with a legacy of their lifetime and all around the island you will find evidence of these early settlers - Celtic crosses, medieval fortresses and Viking burial grounds. Its most famous symbols are the Manx cat and the island’s emblem the three legs of Man whose meaning is “whichever way you throw me I stand”.
